英语中的复合名词是由多个单词组合而成，以创造新的含义。这种用法非常常见，复合名词可以由两个或更多单词组成。这些单词的书写方式有三种：连写成一个词、中间有空格、或用连字符连接。
1. 复合名词的不同形式

2. 复合名词的构成

3. 复合名词的复数形式
复合名词的复数形式会根据其结构而变化。主要有以下规则：
A. 在主要名词后加 -s
当复合名词中的主要成分是名词时，该名词加复数标记。
- toothbrush → toothbrushes （牙刷）
- brother-in-law → brothers-in-law （姻兄弟/姐夫等）
- school bus → school buses （校车）
B. 词尾加 -s（连写单词）
如果复合名词是连写成一个词，只需在词尾加 -s。
- notebook → notebooks （笔记本）
- football → footballs （足球）
C. 不规则情况
部分复合名词有不规则的复数形式，通常根据首词变化。
- man-of-war → men-of-war （战舰，原意"战争之人"）
- passerby → passersby （路人）
