Tečaj o future continuous - Priprema za TOEIC®
Future continuous (također poznat kao future progressive ili future continuous) je glagolsko vrijeme koje se koristi za govor o radnji koja će biti u tijeku u određenom trenutku u budućnosti.
- I will be working tomorrow morning (Radit ću sutra ujutro)
Kako se tvori future continuous?
Osnovna struktura future continuous u engleskom je: will + be + glagol-ing
Ovdje je tablica koja sažima različite oblike future continuous u engleskom jeziku:

Future continuous za radnju u tijeku u određenom trenutku u budućnosti
Future continuous koristi se za opisivanje radnje koja će trajati u određenom trenutku u budućnosti.
- At 9 p.m. tomorrow, I will be flying to New York.
(Sutra u 21 h bit ću na putu za New York avionom.) - This time next week, we will be finalizing the contract.
(U ovo vrijeme sljedeći tjedan, finalizirat ćemo ugovor.) - At noon on Friday, they will be holding a press conference.
(U petak u podne, održat će konferenciju za medije.) - On Tuesday morning, I will be reviewing your proposal.
(U utorak ujutro, pregledat ću tvoju ponudu.)
Osim što naglašava da će radnja biti u tijeku, future continuous također ističe da će ta ista radnja trajati neko vrijeme.
- I will be studying all weekend to prepare for the TOEIC®.
(Učit ću cijeli vikend kako bih se pripremio za TOEIC®. → Naglašava se trajanje I radnja učenja tijekom cijelog vikenda.)
Future continuous za radnju u budućnosti koja je sigurna ili planirana
Future continuous se koristi da se naglasi da je radnja planirana ili da prirodno proizlazi iz toka događaja.
- Don’t worry about dinner; we will be eating at the restaurant tonight.
(Ne brini oko večere; večerat ćemo u restoranu večeras.) - We will be launching the new product line next quarter.
(Sljedeće tromjesečje pokrenut ćemo novu liniju proizvoda.)
Future continuous za pristojno traženje nečega od nekoga
Future continuous se često koristi za pristojno ispitivanje o planovima neke osobe ili za traženje usluge pod pretpostavkom da se radnja može uklopiti u planove te osobe.
- Will you be speaking with the manager later? If so, could you mention the deadline?
(Hoćeš li razgovarati s voditeljem kasnije? Ako da, možeš li spomenuti rok?) - If you will be visiting the client tomorrow, could you deliver these documents?
(Ako ćeš posjetiti klijenta sutra, možeš li mu predati ove dokumente?)
Future continuous za radnju koju će prekinuti drugi budući događaj (s when, while, itd.)
Future continuous također se koristi za objašnjenje da će neka radnja biti u tijeku kad se dogodi druga radnja u budućnosti.
Tada se koristi future continuous za radnju u tijeku, a present simple (ili future simple) za radnju koja prekida ili se dogodi iznenada.

I will be sleeping when you arrive tonight, so please be quiet.
(Spavat ću kad dođeš večeras, zato molim te budi tih.)- "Will be sleeping" = radnja u tijeku u budućnosti
- "arrive" = buduća radnja koja prekida.

Future continuous & future simple, što odabrati
Future simple se često koristi za spontanu odluku, neizbježnu buduću činjenicu ili predviđanje.
- I will answer the phone.
(Odluka donesena u trenutku.) - They will visit the office tomorrow.
- I will call you later.
Future continuous, s druge strane, naglašava trajanje radnje ili njezinu "u tijeku" prirodu u određenom trenutku.
- I will be answering the phone at 2 p.m.
(Naglašava da će radnja biti u tijeku danas u 14 h.) - They will be visiting the office at around 10 a.m.
- I will be calling you at 5 p.m. to discuss your feedback.
(Naglašava da će radnja biti u tijeku u 17 h.)
Future continuous & « be going to », što odabrati?
Futur s “be going to” često izražava namjeru ili blisku budućnost, ali ne nužno “progressivnu” ili “u tijeku” narav radnje.
- I am going to travel to London next week.
(Namjera ili definiran plan.)
Future continuous, suprotno tome, naglašava radnju koja je u tijeku u budućnosti.
- At this time next week, I will be travelling to London.
(Naglašava da će radnja „putovanja“ biti u tijeku u tom trenutku.)
