Future perfect continuous v angličtině dovoluje mluvit o činnosti, která bude pokračovat určitou dobu a bude probíhat až do konkrétního okamžiku v budoucnosti. Tento čas zdůrazňuje kontinuitu a délku trvání činnosti.

Jak se tvoří future perfect continuous?

Základní forma future perfect continuous je: will have been + sloveso−ing

Future perfect continuous pro popis akcí začatých před konkrétním okamžikem v budoucnosti a stále probíhajících

Toto využití future perfect continuous je pravděpodobně nejčastější. Pomocí future perfect continuous zdůrazňujeme, že činnost už začne před určitým bodem v budoucnosti a stále bude probíhat v daný okamžik nebo až do tohoto okamžiku.

By the time he retires, he will have been working in the same company for forty years.
(Až půjde do důchodu, bude pracovat ve stejné firmě už čtyřicet let.)
By 10 p.m. tomorrow, they will have been driving for twelve hours.

Future perfect continuous pro zdůraznění délky nebo průběhu akce až do určitého okamžiku

Future perfect continuous se často používá pro zdůraznění celkové doby, po kterou bude akce probíhat, až do určitého momentu v budoucnosti. Odpovídá na otázky jako: „Jak dlouho?" nebo „Od kdy?“.

In October, I will have been living in this city for five years.
(V říjnu budu žít v tomto městě už pět let.)
By next summer, we will have been practicing for the marathon for six months.
(Do příštího léta se budeme na maraton připravovat už šest měsíců.)
When she arrives, she will have been waiting for her friend for over an hour.
(Až přijde, bude čekat na svou kamarádku už přes hodinu.)

Future perfect continuous pro porovnání dvou časových bodů v budoucnosti

Future perfect continuous umožňuje porovnat začátek akce (často v minulosti nebo přítomnosti) s jejím stavem v budoucnosti, přičemž zdůrazňuje délku mezi těmito dvěma okamžiky.

By the time you finish your degree, you will have been studying at university for six years.
(Až dokončíš studium, budeš na univerzitě studovat už šest let.)
By 3 p.m. tomorrow, I will have been waiting for your call for an hour.
(Zítra v 15 hodin budu na tvůj telefonát čekat už hodinu.)
By the time we leave for vacation, we will have been working non-stop for two months.
(Až odjedeme na dovolenou, budeme pracovat bez přestávky už dva měsíce.)

Typické časové markery pro future perfect continuous

Některé časové výrazy jsou velmi často spojeny s Future Perfect Continuous:

By + konkrétní okamžik: By next year, by 2025, by next week, by the time we arrive, atd.
- By next year, I will have been studying English for five years.
  (Do příštího roku budu studovat angličtinu už pět let.)
- By 2025, she will have been running her business for a decade.
  (V roce 2025 bude vést svou firmu už deset let.)
For + doba trvání: For an hour, for three years, for a long time, atd.
- For a long time, they will have been discussing this topic without reaching any conclusion.
  (Po dlouhou dobu budou o tomto tématu diskutovat, aniž by dospěli k závěru.)
By the time + věta: By the time she leaves, by the time you finish, atd.
- By the time she leaves, we will have been talking for hours.
  (Až odejde, budeme si povídat už několik hodin.)
- By the time the movie starts, we will have been waiting in line for an hour.
  (Až začne film, budeme čekat ve frontě už hodinu.)
Next, in, before + časový údaj (méně časté, ale možné pokud je přítomna myšlenka délky trvání):
- In six months’ time, I will have been working here for two years.
  (Za šest měsíců zde budu pracovat už dva roky.)
- Before he turns 30, he will have been playing the piano for two decades.
  (Než mu bude 30, bude hrát na klavír už dvě desetiletí.)
- Next summer, we will have been traveling across Europe for eight weeks.
  (Příští léto budeme cestovat po Evropě už osm týdnů.)

Kdy by se neměl používat Future Perfect Continuous?

Přestože je future perfect continuous užitečný pro vyjádření délky trvání budoucí akce, existují situace, kdy jej nelze použít:

Se statickými slovesy (nebo slovesy stavu)

Některá slovesa popisující stav, emoce nebo vnímání (to know, to believe, to own, atd.) se nepoužívají v průběhových časech. V těchto případech se místo toho používá future perfect simple.

By next year, I will have known her for a decade.
(Správně - "to know" je sloveso stavu.)
By next year, I will have been knowing her for a decade.
(Nesprávně - "to know" nelze použít v continuous.)

Pokud chcete zdůraznit, že akce bude dokončena, a ne její délku trvání, je lépe použít future perfect simple.

By 5 p.m., I will have finished writing my report.
(V 17 hodin budu mít napsanou svou zprávu.)
By 5 p.m., I will have been writing my report for five hours.
(V 17 hodin budu psát svou zprávu už pět hodin - zde je důraz na dobu psaní, ne na dokončení.)

Future perfect simple versus future perfect continuous - který vybrat?

Future perfect simple klade důraz na to, že činnost bude dokončena, dokonána, uzavřena.

By 2025, I will have finished my training.
(V roce 2025 budu mít své školení hotové. - Důraz je zde na výsledek)

Future perfect continuous klade důraz na délku trvání akce nebo na probíhající proces až do budoucího okamžiku.

By 2025, I will have been training for four years.
(V roce 2025 budu ve školení už čtyři roky.)

Future continuous versus future perfect continuous - který vybrat?

Future continuous obvykle znamená, že akce bude právě probíhat v konkrétní okamžik v budoucnosti, bez nutného důrazu na celkovou dobu trvání.

At 8 p.m. tomorrow, I will be having dinner.
(Zítra ve 20 hodin budu večeřet.)

Future perfect continuous znamená, že akce bude trvat určitou dobu až do konkrétního okamžiku v budoucnosti.

By 8 p.m. tomorrow, I will have been having dinner for an hour.
(Zítra ve 20 hodin budu večeřet už hodinu.)

Závěr

Future perfect continuous se používá k vyjadřování akcí, které budou trvat až do určitého okamžiku v budoucnosti. Zdůrazňuje kontinuitu a délku trvání akce.

Ačkoliv není příliš běžný, je velmi užitečný pro vyjádření myšlenek o průběhu nebo časových úsecích. Navíc se poměrně často objevuje v otázkách TOEIC®, kde je třeba použít formu future perfect continuous.
